  So we took Sandy on a few dates yesterday and she picked out Sheldon (although at the moment I’m thinking what did I get myself into?!….I’ll post my bonding session in a min.). She did really good with him and there was no fighting (ha!). The lady put another bun in named Benny and she did not like him from the start, she bit his butt and he was scared of her. Sheldon’s name was Spanky but we weren’t crazy over that name so we decided on Sheldon (from Big Bang Theory). He’s a 5 1/2 year old mini rex. He’s so soft and he’s very vocal! He made a noise last night that I never heard before so I’ll have to listen again because I can’t describe it. I haven’t had an up earred rabbit in a long time (I still have a soft spot for lops though), so it’s neat seeing how much different he is. The shelter where we got him was so nice and she spent an hour making sure they would be ok….well at the shelter they were, at home not so much. We even got a little care package with a blanket, toy, food, and cookie mix to make for them. If need be they do offer bunny bonding.

  He looks very cute indeed – it sounds as if a neutral zone area bonding session is needed… LOL –
  Sandy would have been out of her comfort (and territorial) zone so didn’t mind Sheldon at the shelter ! (brill name!)

  He is so beautiful!!!! Love those dark ears and the eyeliner (or Guyliner….sorry, Sheldon…).
  
  Mini Rexs have a very special place in my heart. Stormy had the most amazing personality and I just adore that super plushy fur.

  He’s been peeing outside his cage a lot at night. Is this normal when you first bring a new bunny home with another bunny in it? I’m hoping so. Also his poop smells but pretty sure that’s territorial poop. Hope that goes away peehew! I’ve never had a rex before and she said you have to watch for sore hocks….I can really see some padding on his back legs, is this normal or from age? Anything I can do? I keep debating on bringing him to the vet. She said he saw a vet 6 months ago and Sandy’s not due until July. Opinions? Thanks guys!
