My rabbit is about four years old and last night he had really bad diarrhea. His poop is basically just liquid now. This morning he is super flat. I found him just sitting beside his water bowl with his head resting on the edge. He is hardly moving around at all. We have given him some Critical Care and water. He usually fights very hard against being syringe fed, but today he barely fought at all. Yesterday he spent some time outside, so maybe that affected him. The area that he goes in has a bantom chicken (she just walks around and ignores him) and it also has apple, peach and nectarine trees. There is also a little flower patch, but I did some research and I’m pretty sure none of the flowers are toxic to rabbits. I’m really worried.

Is there anyway you could bring him to the vet? My only suggestions are eating something poisonous, or maybe a parasite sickness transferred from the chicken or chicken feces to him. (I have 39 chickens, and they can give out big poops!)

Also, it could be something totally not related at all to going outside. What are the temps where you are? How long was he outside?

Being fat sounds like being bloated, which can be caused by gas. But I doubt gas would cause Diarrhea.

He definitely needs to go to vet.
{{{vibes}}} for your bunny! Do you have a vet with good rabbit knowledge?

There are some risk with the area he roams in. Single stone fruit trees (drupes) are not considered bunny safe. I have heard occasionally of some rabbits eating the leaves and being ok but every rabbit is different.

There is also a risk of him getting the parasite coccidia from the bantam. I would get his poop tested for this as he might have picked it up from another time. It would take time from infection to diarrhoea stage. Good idea they do fecal test anyway for parasites and/or bacterial infections like clostridium.

You mention his having been syringe fed before. Has he been treated for something else recently? Was he on any antibiotics?

We took him to the vet, but unfortunately he passed away. Thankyou guys for the help.

Just a little bit heart broken right now…well a lot heartbroken.
