Just thought I’d post in case anyone now or in future wants to look up about this drug!

Rupert (and the entire clan) saw the vet today; Rupert as his foot abscess has blown up again but also he’s been less and less mobile. For those who don’t know Rupert is a senior and had a leg break while he lived as a stray (Before I adopted him) and the leg healed at an angle. It wasn’t an issue when he was younger, but as expected he’s having more trouble now.

We’re doing some metacam for the abscess but we started cartrophen shots today. He’ll have one shot every three days for 21 days. . My vet said it may or may not help depending on why he’s losing mobility (it’s nothing acute, simply old age) and will take some time to work.

Thank goodness Dave isn’t squeamish, he’ll be doing the shots, and did his first (under supervision from my vet) tonight.

I’ll let you know how it goes! Anyone who’s used it please let me know how it worked for your bunnies!

Curious to see if it works for him, I hope for his and your sake it does. I haven’t heard of this drug before. Will be good to be aware of it in the future.

I’m very curious too. I looked it up, it seems to work miracles in many dogs. Old hunting dogs can go out hunting again etc.
