So we moved to a new apartment a few days ago, our boy levy took to it right away since now he gets free roam 6+ hours a day. But last night our room mates cat moved in (we had decided to let bun get settled before he met the kitty) she is about 2yrs, spayed, and doesn’t really have much interest in him, if anything she’s a bit scared of him, and they are both about the same weight. Well my bunny is terrified of her, when she walks by he runs into the walls of his cage, and he’s been thumping as hard as he can and scari her (I’m not too worried about her though, when she’s had enough she goes upstairs). There’s really no way to seperate them here except to lock her in the bathroom since the other rooms don’t have doors. We’ve been giving my bun treats when she’s in the room, and feeding her in the room so he can watch her when she’s being still and relaxed. I think this morning is a little better than last night, but he’s still really bugged out. Any suggestions?

I guess its like the whole cat and mouse thing. Cats and natural predators to rabbits, and rabbits are natural prey. Their own instincts tell them “run” when they see a cat. The only real solution I can think for this is just to slowly introduce them, baby steps, until they get used to eachother
