So my Luna who is 5-6 years old doesn’t like to be pet, nor does she like to leave her cage. She’s always been like this which is concerning to me. She’ll tolerate being pet for a bit buy will never let you pet her if you are not holding her. She won’t leave her cage unless it is left open for hours, and I’ve taken to quickly grabbing her so I can groom her. I understand that I should not do that, but I had to in order to clean her back paws and tail. I don’t know what else to do, she seems to hate me. I need some tips or some help with her because if I can only feed her and clean her cage, I don’t think she’s living very well.

How long have you had her? You can try to hand feed her treats. Hand feed her pellets too since they can only have 1 tbsp of treats. Perhaps that can entice her to come out and start trusting you. If she has always been like this I wouldn’t think she is sick or anything of that sort. I would start out by hand feeding her treats/pellets inside her cage where she feels most safe and then work your way from there.
