So i have a 8 month old mini lop named lucy and i “put her to bed” lol last night everything was perfect and i woke up this morning to give her food and there’s a MOUND of fur in her cage. at first i thought maybe it was stuffing from her little bed i got her, but it’s way way to soft and thin like hair to be stuffing for a bed. is this normal?! i know bunnies molt but over night? she couldn’t have ripped out that much hair in less than 12 hours and she isn’t pregnant so i’m unsure.

any advice would be great thanks.

Is she unspayed then? Could it be a false pregnancy? Is she exhibiting any other nesting behaviors?

sorry! i completely missed this but yes, she is nesting. i lost my password for this site a while ago and just retrieved it! thanks for the reply even though i didn’t see it. when she loses her hair or molts i think the term is she gets pretty antsy and does not want me near the cage. 100% false pregnancy type of symptoms.

Good to know you figure out what was going on. I’ll lock this thread now since it was a year ago when you were dealing with it. Thanks for the update.
