So I’ve had my Harlequin rabbit, named Mookie, for quite a while now. She’s quite a spunky bunny with a lot of personality. Not to mention, she absolutely LOVES being petted and will even throw your phone out of your hand demanding attention (yes, this has happened I don’t know how many times Lol). Anyways, Mookie likes to wake me up in the morning, since she knows my normal routine by now. She knows that the earliest I wake up for work is 5 am and she makes sure I wake up at this exact time every single day when I leave her out of her cage over night, even if I’m off work that day. The way she wakes me is kind of “unconventional,” she will literally run back and forth across my head/face (as if binkying without the head skake and in a pattern-back and forth across my face) until I wake up. When I finally wake up she just sits at whatever side she ends up on while running acorss my face and stares at me until I assure her I’m awake and rub her on the head… Does anyone else have a rabbit that does this? I’m not freaked out by it, just wondering if anyone else’s rabbits do the same thing to wake them up in the morning? Lol

My Chewie waits until my alarm goes off, and then immediately starts doing zoomies or binkies on the bed (if I’m curled up in the centre of the bed, he’ll go in circles around me until I acknowledge and snuggle or rub him).

On days when I don’t have to get up for work and therefore have no alarm, he waits until the usual wake-up time and settles himself on my chest or back and starts to groom my face or the back of my neck VERY thoroughly. lol

My Yohio has used the running-around-across-mommy’s-head-method for waking me up. Other mornings he just tickles my face with his whiskers or licks my hand. If I don’t get up he resorts to stronger measures, ie chewing my hair. That works every time =)

I plead with him every morning. That never works. When the bunny says it’s time for the human to get up, the human must obey.

Lol I’m glad to hear that I’m not the only one with this “problem”. It is cute when I look back on it but at 5am I’m kind of a grump Lol. I love my Mookie so much! She’s such an amazing rabbit with a willful attitude and spunky personality. I am now reassured that its nothing “strange” after hearing some of you’re responses.

Yes it’s not strange at all. Rabbits can become quite adorable alarm clocks.
