I didn’t see the thread yet, so I figured I would start one up, even if I’m not on here much lately.
Here’s Velvet, our mini-rex lady. She’s 8 months old now and the last couple days has been on-and-off the grumpy alpha lady. She’s still loving on people and her brother, but she’s had some impressive hissy fits; full of honking, circling, stomping, and angry-faces.
Beautiful girl !
Very cute Bunny!
Here is Winnie!
Velvet really has the most appropriate name =)
Winnie, so cute in his hat!
Vibes for little Sophie as she is showing signs of a respiratory issue… thinking snuffles. Which means Bam has been exposed. But here are some pictures of her. She’s still active and everything. She is sneezing and they sound mucousy.
(((((Sophie)))))
They look so crazy good together, NBO!
Awe adorable buns. Trying to upload.
whitepumpkin, you upload pix by clicking Edit, then Attachments, then Upload image and Insert as image. The pix can’t be bigger than 500 kb. If you have bigger pix you need to shrink it, or you can upload to photobucket, imgur etc and paste the link instead.
Newbunnyowner123 what breed is sophie and Bam? The look very similar! She is so beautiful!! VIBES for ((((Sophie))))
Crashley, sophie is a dutch/lop cross (the grey and white bunny) and Bam is a dutch/lionhead cross.
Though Bam seems to be able to control his ears much more than Sophie !! LOL !!
They REALLY were meant to be together…. (Their babies would be (have been) sooooo cute !!!)
And Velvet ! Sooo shiny !!
Bam and Sophie are just unbelievably adorable. Sending some vibes too.
I must say Velvet really looks up to her name and like a real lady. And Winnie like a true sir who has dropped his monocle once he saw lady Velvet.
Gina loves playing in the laundry basket. I think she likes the noise she makes rattling all the pegs around
Aww so cute Perhaps I’m just over cautious but she isn’t heavy enough to be pinched by those is she ?
I did think that myself, at first, but given how many times she hops in to play, I’m guessing the pegs are well made enough to leave her little paws alone! And she is quite a small bunny-girl, not much heavier than a well built guinea pig!
We missed Bunny-butt-Friday; so here’s your weekend Tilly tail.
Hey CT, your Tilly looks spookily like mine from the back – Is she an American?
‘ll try an get an identical shot, but for now this is the bum photo I’ve got ! LOL
(Except that my photo is all magenta-tinged – Zou is exactly the colour on your photo !!)
Vienna; we can’t be 100% on her breed, but we found that marburgers look exactly like her! She’s between 6.5-7lbs (about 3kg) and this is her birthmonth, so we’re celebrating her second birthday on the 15th! ^_^ Zou looks so pretty! I can definitely see the resemblance.
Here are some poor quality pics from my phone:
Aww Moxie, her little fuzzy hands =)
I see now that she’s darker on her head and ears, didn’t think about that until you told us about how the color of an angora is determined.
BB and his stuffy !
Miss Josephine chowing down
CT : I just “image googled” marburger to see what they looked like, didn’t think any looked particularly like Tilly, and then saw a photo EXACTLY like Zou, but next to a much smaller creature, so it can’t have been Zou’s 6kg size….. and then I hovered my mouse (“computer” mouse) over the photo and it IS TILLY from binkybunny.com !! Well well well !!! That photo convinces me even more – she is a minature version of Zou = an ameircan blue !!
Spooky !!!!
(though I don’t think Tilly looks much like the other marburgers that come up on Google images….)
They’re trans-atlantic cousins !! :o))
Well I knew about the Sphynx cats and I knew about the Chinese crested dogs, but I did NOT know about the hairless rabbit breed…
MOXIE – even YOUR Mum couldn’t do much with that !! lol
Bam– Yup. It’s actually pretty cool. If you look up pics of angoras online you’ll notice that.
Bunluv— That first pic I thought his stuffed animal was a bunny sticking it’s tongue out.
Vienna— LOL!
Ugh, umm bunnies need hair !!!!
Here is a picture of one of the latest visiting girls..she started making trouble so ended up in a pen by herself..soooo we can’t have that ! Meet stuffy number two..
Pippi has been headbutting my leg all morning, to make sure I knew he knew the sun was out, and that meant so should he be.
Given the last few days have been sunny enough to take the worst chill off the ground, I gave in and took them out. I stayed out, knowing that once I started to feel the cold without a coat on, it would be time enough.
Gina was not impressed to be first in after only a quarter of an hour, but I don’t want bunnies with sniffles!
Pretty babies !
Vienna; I didn’t realize your Zou was 6kg! My Tilly is my big girl and she’s at about 3kg! I thought she was big when we got her because at the time we only had her and Pete, who was was only at 1.1-1.2kg at his chubbiest! She’s still our big girl when it comes to the buns though… Dunny bunny comes in a close second and often looks bigger as he’s built a bit longer and has taller ears.
Marburgers have a lot in common with Havanas. If you look them up under “fee de marbourg” rather than the English rendition Marburger you find a ton of them that look just like Tilly! Their weight range is 2-3.5kg and she’s definitely right there! She’s got shorter wider ears than most Americans I’ve found, but every bunny is different.
BTW: I love all the pictures, everyone! ^_^
Ahh fée de Marbourg. The exact translation A Marbourg Fairy !! Hardly the same ring as “marburger” !!!! LOL !!
Oh yes, and when I picked Zou up from where I got her at 3 months and 2kg (?) and asked if she had reached her adult size (oh little did I know then!!), the girl looked at me with a confused look as if I’ve just stepped off an alien ship and said “errr, nooooo !!”…
I now understand her look !! lol
G&J, how wonderfully green your grass looks, lucky buns! It’s getting colder here again, down into the double-digits below zero they say.
Its only so green cos no ones been out chomping so long, combined with it being left very thoroughly fertilized
Does anyone agree these three look suspiciously like how they might be planning to get me to stand out in the winter sun without a coat again tomorrow? Its the only way I can be sure they don’t stay out too long and get cold, and they don’t have a problem with me needing to do that!
Gina was nose to nose with the other two, but turned when I came into the room with the camera. I’m not going to try bonding as a trio now til after the spring, as my experience says spring itself can cause issues in younger buns. Also, if I wait til everybun is outside for a few hours, I can super clean, and rearrange to create new neutral territory, as there isn’t any left in the house now. But given the three of them are often sat in this close on the fleecy blanket, I have hopes they will get on one day?
Tilly tunnel time!
I also had another photo of the bunnies when I introduced them to Clarke, but I can’t seem to upload it, the file is too big apparently. I’ll figure out how to fix it and upload it when I do.
Chester has been ridiculously relaxed lately
Being a good footrest
And cuddling up when I’m reading in bed
That’s a lovely photo BD ! Are the little ‘balls’ the front feet that get overtaken by the back feet swinging through?
Strange how absolutely no other evidence of snow being disturbed.
Thank you
BubblesJo– I can’t see your pics. (on google or internet explorer)
I had to pop in and share this!
Someone on FB shared this collection of wild hares of different colors, and one of them looks like Bam’s wild cousin!
http://www.johnpalmerwildlifephotography.co.uk/p262719220/h5dd08157#h68e48d2a
Thanks CT – they are FANTASTIC photos !! – that photographer must spend a lot of time lying down in a field !!!! Or else he has a trigger camera, but still !!!
And then is one terribly dejected looking hare photo – ear vertical – it almost looks like a character out of a Disney film !!
Bunny Burito!
My grumpy bun getting his monthly health and nail check/trim. He HATES being picked up.
That is one cute bun bun – a perfect soft toy model in fact.
“Hates being picked up”, but atleast you can – I alas, no longer can…. and a fighting mega bunny is just too powerful for me to overrule
And a cute burrito too BB !!
what a cute little chub, bunny hugger. He looks like a long-eared teddy bear in that picture <3
Oh my, Diamond you are totally right he looks like a true long-eared teddy bear.
Redford:
“Ohh… finally! Holidays are over, now I can get some rest.
And of course, somebun moved his keep next to the table with oranges and then tried to help himself.
Aww, bunny hugger, he is so grumpily adorable! I agree, he looks exactly like a teddy bear!
Here’s the first picture I ever took of Chomondeley. One of his ears is still up. (They’ve both flopped down now, but before, it looked like he was trying to be an airplane )
This worked out well for both of them, Zeus enjoys licking ears, and Clarke was getting “groomed” in the meantime.
Clarke enjoys cuddling more than the girls, so he always is on my bed which makes for good pictures.
And last, but not least, Zeus and Clarke are actually pretty good friends, probably because Zeus is always licking Clarke.
What lovely pics BD – just goes to show rabbits and dogs really do get stressed out together….
The last photo clearly shows a very excited pup (not !) and Clarke is being held on the bed against his will and unhappy (!!) hahaha
Lovely to see
Yes, BD and Vienna, you are so right. Rabbits and dogs can’t coexist without stressing each other out. Here’s more proof of that.
(Sorry about the poor quality)
Hay with ears!
Pippi and Jenny did a vanishing act this morning
I’d left the cupboard I use to store hay open, and they’d climbed in and were happily helping themselves. They were right at the back when I found them, both trying to eat the same bit of hay, with half a bale to choose from!
G&J, how cute is that?! Like Lady and the Tramp eating spaghetti!
Here’s a couple of pictures of Rusty helping himself to hay, when we first got him, along with a baby-faced Pippi <3
bam lovely photo – soooo stressed they are both exhausted !!! lol (and I love colour coordinated pets !)
Actually it looks like king rabbit has hypnotised peasant pup !!
GJ that is baby face !! very cute – and of course it was Disney open day for them!!!
We have joy, we have fun
We have seasons in the sun
Happy bunnies are we
Lots of grass in our tumeee
Jenny looks so sleek and healthy here, compared to how she was six months ago
Gina is mid moult so bit scruffy looking right now
And for Choco and Latte, they couldn’t go to the grass, so the grass came to them. Hopefully soon be warm enough for them to get out too.
Caught Hermione using Matilda as a mattress…
One of these buns is more disapproving than the others….
LPT : lmao AND lol !!!
GinaJ – come on – mine and yours ARE related somehow ! Look at the resemblance and size (though taken when Zou was only a teenager)
Kyra (my rainbow pup) has her “I-look-suspicious-but-haven’t-done-anything-wrong!-Honest-Mum” face on….
The other two photos are when Kyra used to go in the cage to munch on any rabbit poops and then Zou going in to check no carrots were in danger !
GinaJ lookalike !
Hey leave the carrot alone !!!
I’m just checking you’re only going for the poops !! Phewie !
Zou is definitely Jenny’s long lost great grand bunny lol!
