So my little Nibbles is in a fairly large dog crate, its around 109 x 69 x 75 cm (L x W x H). However is not very uh, strong nor durable. I can’t see it lasting and its driving me insane. One of the doors is very stiff, but also Nibbles thinks its acceptable to shake it at 4am because she would like some breakfast.. I’ve also noticed that due to the way it is, it can be pushed into more of a parallelogram shape. Of course this concerns me so I’m looking for a new housing option.

I was considering buying a play pen, but thinking about it the other rex we have has jumped close to 5ft before.. So maybe not. She’s a little terror and wouldn’t hesitate to jump it, so I need something with a lid.

She’s a mini rex so she is pretty high energy, but also very smart. As of recent rather than handing her nuggets, I just put them in a treat ball. Very quickly she has worked out if she throws it she gets treats. And of course, she’s starting to try and work out how to open the crate door.

I could probably if I moved my room a bit I could add another 40cm or so into her living space.

I’m hoping to find something under £100 at the most. Of course Nibbles is unwell and the money I got from Christmas needs to be split into her veterinary bills as well. So if I could find something a little cheaper it would be better, as then that way I have more left over for vet bills. Although I can take some money from the bank if need be.

Also does anybody have any good flooring options? My bedroom floor is carpet and she’d rip that up if given the chance

It honestly took me a LONG time to end up buying my condo for my buns. I had dog crates, which were a pain in the butt. I built a condo and I just thought it was an eye sore. So finally after all that wasted time and money, I shelled out the cash for the leith petwerks bunny condo. I figured my buns will be with us for years and years, so a quality cage wouldn’t be very expensive for the long run. They also would have been cheaper in the first place. The shipping can be steep as well but rabbit rescues sometimes carry this, so you may be able to avoid the shipping. It’s visually appealing, easy to clean and my pair love it so much. Also you can start with a smaller level and add to it when you have the funds.

That’s the link Hope this helps!
