(I hope I’m putting this in an okay place, if not, sorry.)

So Clarke’s getting neutered on Wednesday, I finally found a vet I trust enough to neuter him. My previous vet was good with rabbits, but didn’t do spays, so I didn’t trust him to do a neuter. I’m so nervous, I know I shouldn’t be, because this vet is good and even told me before I could ask not to fast him before the surgery, but the girls were already spayed when I adopted them, so I haven’t gone through this with a rabbit before.

Oh, and I know I haven’t posted a lot in the past few months, so in case anyone forget, I got Clarke in April from a friend who rescued him from someone who threatened to kill him if no one took him, but she didn’t really know how to care for rabbits and thought he’d be better off with me.

        Obligatory pictures:

(Ignore the waterbottle, it was for a size comparison, but he kept licking my bed.)

Great news! I think finding another vet was a good idea
And Clarke is so cute! Looks like a rex with that soft fur!

Yeah, for check ups, my previous vet seemed fine, and we’ve never had an emergency, but I never thought to ask about spaying and neutering because I never needed to. My town is pretty small, we only have two vets in town, and they both said they’ve seen rabbits and we’re surrounded by farms, so they see a ton of farm animals, and 4H rabbits, but I guess none of those people want their rabbits fixed.  We have to go a couple towns over for this new vet, but it’s worth it. But yeah, he is a rex! We’re thinking mini rex, because someone told me that if he has curly whiskers, that means he’s a mini rex, and he does have curly whiskers. I like rubbing my face against him, he’s so soft and cuddly, and he lets me do it when the girls won’t.  I sneeze a lot afterwards, but it’s totally worth it.

Once he’s healed up, he’ll be bonded to the girls, hopefully it works out, they really liked him the first night he was here, but I never really let them out at the same time since, and they do all groom each other through cage bars, but we’ll see, I know things can change after they’re fixed.

He’s a very hansom boy. I just want to squish him! =D It sounds like your new vet was a good choice. I’m sure he’ll be fine. Boys bounce back pretty quick after they’re neutered. Much more quickly than girls.

Well, we dropped him off two hours ago. I’ll update when we go pick him up. They haven’t called us yet, but I’m hoping it’s soon. A little off topic, there was a cat in the vet’s office that had the shape of a heart on her head, and I just couldn’t get over how cute she was. She was really interested in batting a piece of hay sticking out of Clarke’s carrier.

We picked him up a few hours ago, but he’s been hiding in his hidey house the whole time, so I’m gonna get some food and try and get him to eat it.

                      (EDIT: )

Never mind, he was out and about and drinking water when I went to take a nap, my dad saw him walking around too. I’m a little less worried, he also was grooming his back paws and is kinda half flopping in his hidey house right now, he can’t fully flop out in it haha.

Okay, last update for now, unless he’s not doing well later.

He ate an offered cranberry immediately, and was hopping around his cage afterwards, he even nudged one of his little cat balls. He’s grooming himself, but staying away from the incisions. I’ll be making the bunnies dinners soon, but I don’t think he won’t eat it, since he was so quick to eat the cranberry. Pictures for cuteness factor.

Aww, glad to hear everything went well and he’s doing good. Boys usually bounce back pretty quick, so I’m sure you won’t have much trouble.

Yeah, I haven’t had any troubles yet. He ate all his dinner last night, save a small piece of romaine, and he pooped a lot too, and he peed twice, outside his litter box and he moved the fleece so he was kind enough to pee straight on my new carpet. .-. He also was kind enough to wake me up by loudly throwing his toy keys and jingle ball around at 5am. I now remember why I don’t have the bunnies in my bedroom anymore.

Also, he moved the fleece and plopped his butt down on the cold laminate, so I gave him a ceramic tile that we use in the summer, he’s mostly been sleeping on that if he isn’t doing anything else.

Yep, I bet that tile feels good.
