I have four rabbits. Two I got from a (admittedly shady) breeder, and two who came from the first two. The younger two are about three months now, both female, all of them are lionheads. My main problem is the two female babies are around the same size as daddy, who is at least 7 months, at most 12. (The breeder didn’t give me real information on their ages…or genders)

I read that males are smaller, and I know lionheads are a smaller breed, but he is half the size of the mom and just seems overall tiny. He eats well, gets exercise and affection, and has a clean cage so I can’t think of anything I might be doing to mess with his growth or that would lead to a health issue. Could he just have been the runt of the litter? I know the male from his and the momma’s litter was fairly smaller as well, but is the size difference really that significant? He just seems so tiny.

Some bunnies are small, my Uncle would breed rabbits and very often there was a tiny one, I know when people have babies the mum and dad can be tall and the baby grow into a small adult, my brother who is much younger than me is very tall my parents are tall and my sister who is 10 years older than me is taller than me, I am the smallest in our family, my son is taller than me, even though he was very very tiny when he was born, my Aunties and Uncles are a lot taller than me, so it maybe that, if he eats and drinks OK then I wouldn’t worry but you could mention it to his vet, sometimes with babies and animals they can be really tiny then suddenly grow very big.
We thought I was going to be tall but no, I’m just over 4 and a half foot I’m not going to grow anymore not at 40 years old.

That’s a fair point, heredity works in weird ways. I know so little about how they were cared for before I got them at 6 months old, other than that their conditions were awful, that I worry there will be some sort of long-term problems from it.
