        Hi everyone!

I actually just became a member to be able to post on this forum, since I got my bunny Luci In March this forum has been a lifeline of great information for me, so thank you!! I was looking on older posts on this subject and I did see that there were some similar topics, however my question is a bit different. I am first looking for a trustworthy, experienced vet in Virginia that I can take my baby to. She’s my first rabbit and she’s basically my child haha, I’ve been putting off here spay because I’m so nervous I’ll pick the wrong vet or something else could go wrong!! I was wondering if anyone here has personal experience with any vets in the area that you would recommend?? Google reviews can only be trusted so much   Also I have looked at the House Rabbit Society’s list of trusted vets, however upon calling Hartwood Animal Hospital (since they were one of the higher reviewed vets to begin with) to get an estimate I got a rough quote of $510 not including blood work, pre or post op care and checkup, or pain meds. I want the best for my bunny but I’m also a college student who really just cannot afford that high of a cost right now, but I also don’t want to take her to any ol’ clinic just because it’s cost efficent only to have something terrible happen  So please, if anyone has any advice I would love to hear it!! Also I found a clinic in Grasonville, MD (Only about 1 hr 45 mins from me, I don’t mind making the drive) called Spay Now that’s supposed to offer low-cost spays, but has anyone had any experience with them, good or bad? Thanks so much!!

Are there any other vets on that list you could phone?

What I did (as there are none on that list in my area) I phoned and emailed all the vets in the yellow pages. I quizzed them not just on price, but how often they do spay/neuter, if they do teeth, what other illnesses they’ve seen and what treatment they prescribed, how many rabbits a year etc.
          And go from there.

I also found this vet resource here- https://binkybunny.com/RESOURCES/tabid/67/Default.aspx
