I love my little guys sooooo much. I spend a few nights a week away from home. On those nights, I come home the following morning to see them, before I go back to work. They have captured my heart. I miss them when I’m on work travel. Guin with her bully attitude, she is so cute when she approaches me for petting. Lancelot is my mommy’s-boy. He just wants to be with his mama. I love it when he runs circles around me, tugs on my jeans, and buzzes, when I come into the room. And Avalon and Morgana – my two shy bunnies. I love them no matter how shy they are, or how little they allow me to pet them. They are still my fur children. People think they are cheap simple meat creatures. I think they are wonderfully complex companion creatures. You have to earn their trust. They aren’t simple to keep. I love my bunnies, and they love me 🙂

I love Chewie to the moon and back. He is my only child and the light of my life. My world revolves around him and I feel that it is a privilege to be his human slave. I adore every twitch of his whiskers and flick of his paws, every wave of his tail and jolly little flop, his binkies, and zoomies, and periscopes… I melt when I see him stretched out on his tummy, sunbathing his cute little bum, or when he yawns like a miniature lion after a good meal. The nom nom nom sounds he makes when he eats, and purring sounds when he grinds his little teeth with pleasure. The way he hops into my bed, kneads the duvet and pillows flat, and then turns into a bunny loaf, stretching out his face towards mine, one cheek down on the bed, one up so that we can smoosh faces and rub noses, and breathe eachother in for a good 15 to 20 minutes at a time. I love how he loves to have his little lips and nose and chin petted and kissed and then gives me little licks on my nose to say “I love you too, Mommy”. Yeah… I love my little one to distraction.

My husband and I love our bunnies so much that we haven’t gone on vacation in over 15 years because we don’t want to board them at a vet and there aren’t any sitters I know that could accommodate the bunnies’ schedules of being in the house part of the day and being on the screen porch part of the day.  I also wouldn’t want to be away from them for more than a few hours.

Last year our teenage daughter begged us for a bunny. My husband voted “NO!” and I voted “well, ok, but you have to take responsibility”. Since then, this bunny has turned into our baby! And guess who the bunny loves the most … yep … my husband. He is the only one she smothers with kisses. When he is away on business, he always calls home and asks how she is. Every morning, when we congregate in the living room, before the days activities begin, she seeks him out for cuddles and kisses. Now its to the point where my daughter will say “can we not talk about the bunny every second of the day?”, and I always reply with “well, you are the one who wanted her!”. Who would’ve thought this little creature would have captured our hearts?
