hi, I’m scared about my rabbit, today he fell from sofa he was standing on the head of the sofa (I don’t actually know what is called) it’s 78 cm distance maybe, I tried to save him but i was too late he fell behind the sofa, I grab him and put him on the floor to see if he can walk and he just walked fine, and after hours he’s lying down on the side and also doesn’t eat. I’m scared if something happened to him or he’s in pain or just scared? I’m taking him to the vet tomorrow to check on him.

*sorry if my English is bad, thanks

You do need to take him to a vet as soon as possible. He may have a concussion from hitting his head. Is he conscious? You should keep him warm by putting a blankie etc over him, sick bunnies get cold and that’s dangerous.

yes he is conscious. I gave him lettuce and he eat a little bit, is this a good sign?
it’s late now i’m going to take him in the morning.

Although he could be exhausted from the ordeal (i’m sure it was scary!) there’s a chance he could have chipped or cracked a tooth, or have some bruising/sprain depending on how he landed. I would call the vet for a checkup and explain what happened asap, in the meantime, if he’s not eating, you can try mixing some critical care or pellet mush for him… wet greens may entice him too if he’s not interested in hay or pellets.

Poor darling. If he is out of sorts, you should DEFINITELY take him to the vet as soon as possible. Sending (((good vibes))) your way.

I think this is definitely a time where a trip to the vet is needed. Buns are so fragile. My buns hurt his leg while inside his cage not too long ago. Without Xray, we never would have known nothing was broken because he acted like his front foot was. Hopefully, your buns is just a ltitle sore (I believe rabbits are very susceptible to pain but great at hiding it) and there isn’t any major damage, but either way, your vet will have the best resources to get him back to normal.

I went to the vet. He checked on him, he said he have bruises and nothing to worry about. He gave him a needle counter medication. three days, two per day. i’m so glad he’s not broken or something really bad happened to him.

I’m so glad you got him to the vet and that nothing seems broken! What type of medicine did you get?

Now it is of course important that you keep an eye on him so he eats like he should. Sometimes when a rabbit gets really scared, it stops eating or eats only very little. And that’s dangerous for a bunny.

Yes, Ozzy is back to his normal self. It took a week or so. I’m hopeful your buns will be okay, too.

thank you all for the replies, i really appreciate it.

he gave him antibiotic to recover from the bruises, I have to go the vet for three days to do the needle. he’s now better than yesterday, he’s back to eating like he used to be and walking without limping. i can see he’s recovering quickly thank god.
