My best friend, who also lives with me, has a pair of female rats. He really wants the rats and Fox to do a meet and great. Supervised play time.

I may have asked something about this before, but as it becomes clearer that the time will come soon. Does anyone have any advice on how – or if – these animals should be introduced. I’m very nervous over anything that could upset or hurt my little buddy bunny. But I am also worried about the safety of the rats.

        Advice, is very welcome.

Willow loves to sit and stare at the rats. However one of them has tried to bite her. Luckily she has enough sense to not smash her face against their bars, so hasn’t been bit. My concern is..well I don’t want Willow bit of course, but if she decided to bite or kick them back I don’t think it would go over well for the rats.

So…I don’t think I’d do it. just in case. My pitbull plays with the bunny and the rats, and the same one who keeps trying to get Willow has gotten him a few times. He is 12 years old though and has always had small animals around him and is extremely mellow about any naughtiness they are up to. I don’t think a bunny would be as tolerant and though she hasn’t broke skin on the dog, the bunny has much more tender skin.

All animals are different though and only those that have them can truly know. But my gut reaction is no way.

I would be cautious if you do introduce them. I don’t think there are really any diseases one could give to the other, but I would be wary of potential aggression (from either side). They could really do some harm to each other.
