My bunny is having issues and not sure what is causing them. I plan on getting her spayed hopefully within a couple months. I think her reproductive issues are causing her to pee everywhere. Could be dominance too but I will have her out and she will pee. This isn’t normal behavior for her.

Is it okay to put diapers on her just while I am spending time with her? She has peed all over my couch and floor and this happened before like a month ago. I cannot go through this again. I won’t leave it on her for more than two hours and I will always make sure to take it off if she has peed and when I am done spending time her with. But I spend less time.with her because of this. Plus if she had on a diaper I could let her roam around everywhere and not worry about her peeing everywhere which she will do.

Would it be okay to use diapers like buggies? And what size would I use? She is a 6 pound lionhead

          Hi Luna!

From what I know, I would be cautious on putting a diaper on a rabbit. They can work and there are some pretty well designed pieces out there, like this older post here. Diapers can be used, but you have to be pretty aware. If urine sits for any length of time it can be very dangerous. BUT if you are only planning to use it for short amounts of time, and are ready to take really good care of cleaning afterwards, this could be a good solution!

I strongly suggest a vet visit. If she’s peeing all over and it’s not normal behavior, that is a big red flag that there is something going on. Bunnies can get Urinary Tract Infections and other issues that would require a vet.
