        So.

Days after being given a clean bill of health after his neutering, Fox has decided to take a small bite out of an tin foil tray. A small bite. Very small. But he quickly chewed it up and ate it. I couldn’t stop him in time.

I’ve already notified the Vets office, and will be watching him, but they won’t actually get  a chance to get back to me until tomorrow morning (it is approaching midnight here.) He seems fine right now. But I still worry.

Is this something to be concerned about? Being a small piece, will it pass harmlessly or can I expect some more serious complications.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I guess it depends on how sharp it is. I would be afraid of something sharp perforating his stomach or intestines. Otherwise, some surprising things have passed through bunnies will no harm. The general recommendation is to make sure the bunny is eating plenty of hay and drinking water, as this will help move things along.

The Vet called and said to monitor for straining, lack of appetite, and change in poo consistency.

I wouldn’t suggest worrying. That’s super you called the vet-most people don’t realize you can call and get some advice quickly by phone instead of dragging them in for an exam-most vets will tell you if it’s necessary Good stuff. I’ve got my fingers crossed that it passes easy, I’m sure it will-a very small piece sounds pretty benign.

Fox is doing perfectly fine. I’ve been keeping an eye on him and his poopin’ habits. He is currently hopping around the living room, deciding how to get my attention. Thanks for the concern. :3
