I clip my bunnies’ nails once a month, but the frequency of when you should trim your bunny’s nails really depends on the ground your bunny walks on and the bunny itself. Whenever you notice the nails getting long, you should trim them. If you are scared, you can take your bunny to a rabbit savvy vet. The vet can trim the nails, and show you how to do it properly.

I’m having a hard time telling myself when it’s time. Willows seem really short to me, but my comparison right now is our skunk who passed and his nails are very thick and long, our birds and the dogs, which I can see the line easily on where to not cut, so it’s just not the same. Willows nails are dark and her hair is really long. She goes in this week to the vets so I am hoping the can tell me how to tell if they are long.
