One of my rabbits recently had an abscess on her face. We got it treated, but the infection had already eaten away at her nasal cavity. The vet told us that rabbits after having an abscess normally don’t live very long. Does anyone have an idea of how long? Months? A year? A few years?

I’m so very sorry to hear this. I really have no advice for you. I strongly suspect this is a case by case sort of thing. Some abscesses recurr but some don’t.

Has your vet done X-rays to see the amount of damage?
