So I just switched my bunny over to all Oxbow products for food, hay, and vitamins. I have read that they are high quality. I bought some digestive health chews from Oxbow for my bun, but he won’t touch them. When I do get him to eat them I can tell almost an immediate difference in his poop. What could I spread or spritz on these little chews to make my bunny a little more enticed to eat them? any suggestions?

(Not that my bunny is unhealthy, but a bunny mom, or dad, can definitely tell the difference between small oval shaped poops and full round poops.)

Our Sukka doesn’t like the Digestive Health tablets either – I think it’s the anise flavor in them, it’s so strong the bunnies find it unpleasant. We’ve tried spreading all kinds of stuff on the cookies (tomato juice, pineapple juice, wrapping it in mint leaves, etc…), but she just licks the nice stuff off and leaves the cookie.

I’ve been considering grinding the tablets into a powder, mixing it with some water and syringe-feeding it, so you could try that!

I’ve read that blackberry leaves are very good for the digestive tract of bunnies, if you wanted a more natural route. Willow loves them, so it’s easy to add to the diet. They grow here like horrible weeds and we have to beat them back continuously. So now I just clip them as they come up and she can have a tender vine of leaves.

Thank you, I really appreciate the suggestions! I never thought about soaking them in pineapple juices or anything like that! That’s a good idea, I will have to try that! and grinding them up would make it much easier to combine them with something and disguise the taste. Thank you for the suggestions!
