My rabbit Benji is litter box trained and neutered. Usually he has no problem using his litter box, but twice now in the last 8 weeks or so he’s decided to pee on my bed very late at night. He’s very sneaky about it so I don’t even notice when he’s doing it. I’ve washed and scrubbed to get the urine smell out of the soiled sheets so he won’t get ideas about where he is allowed to pee. I don’t know if this is normal behavior or if I should be worried. Because the incidents have been so far between (over a month) I don’t think that it’s anything health related, but I could be wrong. He’s young, 10 months, so I don’t know if it has something to do with age? At this point I’m grasping for straws as to what could be the cause. Any help would be much appreciated!

If you keep him in your bed a lot he’ll think it is a new portion of his territory. I don’t know if he is marking this territory or if he just has to go. My advice? Cuddle with him on the couch. Let your bed be your territory.

We have a young bun, around 3-4 months old and she pees all over the place. She uses the litterbox sometimes and other times not. There doesn’t seem to be a pattern of specific spots, it’s just whenever she feels like going, she goes. The wife and I try to keep the area clean, especially when she pees outside the litterbox because we don’t want her to think that those are pee spots, but we’re spending huge amounts of time doing this. Recommendations?

She’ll eat something, wander around, and then just go at that random spot. Or she’ll be giving us great hops and binkys and then just stop and go right there. And then other times she’ll wander around, find a litter box climb in and sniff around and decide, this is fine.

Is she spayed? Around the age your bun is, they are maturing. This may cause her to lose her litter training habits. Also, have you litter trained yet?

She’s not spayed yet, I though she was too young? Not sure what you mean about “litter trained”. We’ve seen no evidence of her using the litter box consistently yet.
