I know we have all tried it (or at least thought about it). Dressing up our bunnies in super cute wittle costumes. With some research or trial and error we know it’s not always a good idea to dress up our little bunbuns like tiny little sailors. Bunnies don’t like the feeling of being restricted and will often panic so instead we have to control ourselves and keep our outfit ideas to ourselves. I did once try dressing Philomena up. I researched ahead of time and learned about how bunnies feel about being stuck in restrictive clothing so I opted to try a little Christmas cape that could be velcro’d loosely around the neck. Philomena would look great in red and I was hoping she would tolerate it long enough for a picture. She didn’t. She panicked. And she made me promise to never do it again. I really want to dress her up like a princess but a promise is a promise, and I intend to keep it.

Sometimes though (usually when she’s busy eating) I will place a plastic bottle cap a top her head. And she’s confused a bit at first but then continues eating and behaving like everything was normal. It. is. adorable. I have also tried other objects, dandelions and other food things, hay, and hair ties. The hair ties are large enough to fit over her ears without constricting the ears in anyway shape or form so no worries. I want to either make a small crown or somehow get her to let me put a bow by her ear so I can take a picture and marvel at the cuteness of my bunny but that is a task for another day.

Has anybun out there been successful when dressing up their bun? Any funny stories? Cute pictures? Ideas? Wishful thinking?

I’ve dressed Moxie up in a tutu and a dog jacket. Both were too small so they were kinda just set on top of her. I will try and post a pic once I get on my regular computer. ;^]

Bruno has long fur, so sometimes I put bows in her hair. I gave her pigtails once, it was adorable! She didn’t seem to mind. I’ve done hats and a tutu type collar. I sooo wanna buy a doggie-sized sweater or something though lol.

With both Meketaten and Nefertari I’ve put stiff bracelets (the cuff kind) on their heads over their ears so it looks like a little crown, haha! They’d stand it for maybe two seconds before going “nope!” and shaking their heads and knocking it off. Because of the quick “nope”s I’ve never gotten a picture of it, but next time I’m at my parents’ I will attempt some super fast camera work lol

When I was younger, I’d usually put rings on my old bunny’s ear! Not the best idea ever, but she didn’t really do anything about it. Haha.

Both of mine are fine with being dressed up actually. Speckles was a devil for Halloween, and Chom was a bat. Wings included.

Speckles winter coat is not as thick as Chom’s, so we agreed and got her a few loose sweaters for the winter, since we keep our apartment at about 55°F, and we don’t want her to be too cold. He also has his own sweater, and they both seem to enjoy it. Every time the sweaters come out, they both get excited and binky, and never struggle when we put them on them.

Moshu seems to be a firm supporter of nudism. Wont keep anything on for more than two seconds. I see pictures of bunnies in costumes, bows and tiaras on Pinterest and I wonder what sort of witchcraft is that xD Do they sedate the buns before dressing them up and clicking their pictures?
Moxie… whoa o___o This is exactly what I am talking about. Is that an exceptionally calm bunny you have !? What a pretty dress. ^_^

Avantika, mine are nudists too I think. A wee Santa’s hat can sometimes be accepted. If someone holds the bunny. I never understand how people get their buns to pose for Christmas pics and such. It just wouldn’t happen here.

Moxie, that is some serious stink-eye! Lovely dress though.

Hmm, I’m pretty sure she ran off right after I snapped the pic.

I have some pics of Moxie in a tutu on my tutu mania thread I think. I’ll see if I can find one.

Kraken was a dragon for Halloween. He wore a costume with a little velcro under his chin to keep it on. It only took an apple piece as a bribe to get him to cooperate. I am the elephant in the picture
