Hi everyone! My little guy, Olaf, came home from his neuter a few hours ago and is doing really well. Before the appointment I read a lot about the procedure and I was prepared for his eyes to look “wet” afterwards (from the ointment the vet applies during surgery to keep them from drying out). That said, I never read anything that explained whether he would be able to groom it away himself or if I should do anything to try and help? Will the ointment wash off on it’s own?

Otherwise, he is eating, drinking, and digesting as well as I could hope.

When my bun when under her tracheal wash I just left it be and she took care of it herself. If it looks excessive or like it’s irritating him, I would just try and use my finger or a soft cloth to gently wipe it away.
I’m not sure what others do though.

Glad his procedure went well and (((vibes))) for a speedy recovery!

Thank you so much! He did, indeed, clean it all himself. Thank goodness for adorable face washing! :]
