This is in the lounge instead of rabbit Q&A, because I am the one with the rash.

I have an appointment to see my Dr. on Wednesday, and all the animals are going to the vet next week JIC.  I had to postpone my chiropractor appointment, which is not great.  My back has been making sleeping hard.

The animals are not happy about getting no pets and snuggles from me. I don’t want to give any of them ringworm though.

Have you found out if it’s definitely ringworm?

Yes, my Dr confirmed it. He wants me to do topical treatment first to see if that will work. I’m worried I will miss a spot. and not get it all. Just this morning I found a new spot I hadn’t noticed or started treating on my back next to my tattoo where I can barely reach it.

I’m terrified I’m going to pass it on to my son. He has eczema and is allergic to an extremely common ingredient, which is in almost all skin ointments.

(((Vibes))) that it’ll go away soon and nobody/no pet will catch it. Is it uncomfortable?

I had a small patch of that on my leg a couple months ago. I tried an anti-fungal ointment on it. Seemed to clear it up and keep from spreading. Good luck!!

((((Vibes)))) for the pain and easy, fast treatment.

It isn’t very uncomfortable. What’s bugging me the most is not being able to snuggle with anyone.

I also have discovered I am more vane than I realized, because of how worried I am that it will spread to my scalp.

All the furry pets went to the vet today. The vet considers the cat the most likel suspect as to who gave me ringworm even though he is asymptomatic. It’s unfortunately going to take days to get the test results back.

It’s going pretty well. It’s been about a week with no new spots. I should not be contagious anymore, so I don’t have to avoid touching people the same way. It stayed below my neck.

The vet will have the cat’s test results tomorrow or Tuesday. He meows at me pitifully anytime I go over to dad’s house, because I won’t let him sleep on top of me like he normally does.

                                  Update: It’s not ringworm.

Well, it flared up again, so my PCP sent me to a dermatologist. It’s not ringworm, and I’m not contagious. So I’ve been avoiding cuddling the animals for no reason.

Porky was very happy this evening when I started giving him all the pets again.

At least you’re not contagious. Hopefully it’s nothing to serious.

I have a family member, that when they get stressed they get this “flare up” “rash” around their neck/ears. It can last from anywhere from 30 minutes to a week, depending on how bad the stress was/if the stress is on-going.
