Jax is currently set up in our kitchen which we have gated off with a homemade moveable and folding fence (so that we can use it in other locations later). He does not have a cage. We brought him home from the shelter in a plastic small dog carrier which was his preferred place to sleep and hang out in for awhile, but he stopped using it so we removed it. His favourite place to sleep is out in the open in the corner by the closet door and he also like to lounge under the desk and on the carpet runner. The paper bag closest to the carpet is full of shredded cardboard and a couple pieces of packing paper – sometimes he will burrow or dig around in there. He does not go inside the little timothy bungalow anymore but it works well to support the logs which he likes to jump on top of. We have to make sure to keep the desk chair tucked in or he will get on top of the desk and eat the plants! The little orange ball is a food dispensing ball and his water is in the red dish

Looks great. We had Willow set up in our kitchen untill we got her pen set up and her potty habits were good and the rest of our house was bunny proofed.

We are still working on bunny proofing our home for him. His habits and behaviours are great but we want to make sure everything is safe for him before we let him go more free range.

I have an update! We’ve finally Jax proofed other areas of our home and gradually stayed with him as he explored and got used to his new area. Now he is a free range bunny even when we are not home. He is allowed everywhere except for the closets, spare bedroom, and front entryway. I sometimes find him standing up on his hind feet scratching at the spare bedroom door lol. Little guy thinks no where should be off limits! My partner created a coffee table/den area for him in our living room so he has a safe place to hang out, sleep and eat hay (as our living room is half a floor up from our kitchen). We also placed slightly smaller litter boxes in the living room and upstairs as we read there should be a box easily accessible. Well, even though he was using the smaller boxes when we first rescued him, he has not used either of these new ones! On the plus side he has not had any accidents either (knock on wood!) and will run downstairs to the kitchen to use his litterbox. We think he’s really happy with all of his extra space Something he likes to do sometimes in the mornings or evenings is just sprint up the full flight of stairs to our bedroom, run around our bedroom doing binkies, and then run back down the stairs. It’s hilarious to watch. He also seems curious about the air vents (which we only have floor ones upstairs) and although he doesn’t like the warm air he doesn’t seem to mind the venting room temperature air
