My husband and I recently rescued a rabbit named Chuck ? he is so very sweet. Out of curiosity, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what kind of rabbit he is. It doesn’t particularly matter to me, I’m just curious. Also if anyone has any tips for a new rabbit mom I would love them. Thanks everyone!!

Your photo isn’t showing up. Are you trying to upload it from your phone or a computer? For some reason it only works from the computer. =]

I fixed the pic, it’s showing now.
I have no idea what breed he is (I’m not good with breeds), but I have to say he’s a beautiful boy =) Love his color!

              What a cutie pie! =D

It’s kinda hard to tell by the picture. Do you have an estimate for his age and weight you could give us? Maybe compare him to a soda can or water bottle so we could get a better idea? If he’s still a baby he might have some Flemish in him.

He is about 16 months old and my guess is about 3 pounds. Maybe the size of a big tissue box? His fur is about 1-1.5 inches long and is extremely soft. I’ll take a better picture when I get home today ?

                  16 months or 6 months?

His ears look heavy. Are you sure they aren’t going to flop?

Well isn’t he as cute as a button and what a stellar color ! One of mine is really soft to. Not sure what breed he is though. My son calls him ” silky soft “

His ears do look heavy, but that could also just be the angle of the photo. He doesn’t really look “plush” like a rex, but that breed is pretty soft. Hmm… Whatever he is he sure is a cutie pie though.

If he’s only 3 lbs at 16 months, he’s probably got some netherland dwarf in him. He has no dwarf characteristics, such as the short ears, one would expect in such a small rabbit. This could be either because he is a mix or because he is a “false dwarf” and didn’t inherit a dwarf gene.

Eepster– I was thinking some Nethie too, but the lack of short ears really threw me off! lol

Looks like a Lop cross to me. Mini lop (or dwarf lop depending on where you live).
