when a rabbit goes into a new cage does it take them a while to get comfortable?  She doesnt seem to be herself.  Is it because its a new surrounding and she just needs to get used to it? I spent $129 on this cage and just want her to like it.

She is a territorial little rabbit, remember when you moved her old cage to a new spot and she didn’t approve? =) I think she’ll make this cage her new home just fine if you give it a little time, a few days or so. It is a nice cage.

Thank you. It was $129 so it better be good but she keeps chewing the wood which is making me angry. I have a bar of dove soap I might run on it. And yeah I guess u are right give it a few days

Could you give her something else to chew like a willow toy, apple twigs? They do like to chew.

She has all of that x3 in there. Might just be nerves from new cage?

I would think so. So give it a couple of days.

I sure hope so. Another thing that is making me scratch my head is why again is she peeing all over in random spots? She was doing really good not 100% but really good going in her litter box in the other cage but it also had absorbing pellets on the ground and this cage doesn’t it has the slide in tray up top and I put sticky tiles on the bottom. At the bottom of the ramp there is her litter box in the corner but she always pees the most in the 6 inches from her littler box and the other side of the wall. Why won’t she go in her litter box? I just want want to have to keep cleaning pee everyday. I’m thinking of putting absorbing pellets on the bottom layer of the cage and not just have the sticky tiles.

I think it has to do with her not being spayed. It’s virtually impossible to litter-train an unspayed teenage bunny. They have this really strong urge to mark their territory, especially the girls since it’s the female bunnies that are the bosses of the warren. I can very well see how it is very frustrating for you though, all that extra work.

If it were me, I think I’d measure the whole bottom and then try and find a shallow plastic bin of the same size, like ones that slide under the bed, at least until she is spayed. Then put a layer of pellets down. It would be easy to clean then, slide it out an dump.

Yeah I would do the bottom tray thing but there’s no room since I screwed in a piece of plywood and put casters on it. I just wish there was a way to litter train a teenager baby bunny. There pee reeeeekkkssssss and I don’t wanna clean it everyday. I might put the absorbing pellets Down I’m not sure yet

hmm, there is no doors on the bottom?

Don’t use soap btw. many animals love it, since it has fats in it. It’s likely to encourage her to chew and would not be healthy.

No it does not have trays. It’s meant to be an outside cage but I put a bottom on it. The top level is a tray which is fine and I’ll clean that once a week but when she pees she peeeeeeessss and its gross

I am returning the cage or try to sell it. My bunny is just not the same since she has been in it.
