I know bunny’s are suppose to eat a very fiber rich diet, which is why when I started juicing veggies and fruits, I became curious if the pulp would make a good treat or feed for my bunny.

I think a lot of the nutrients are taken out when fruits and veggies are juiced, so thats one thing

Also I know bunnies shouldn’t consume too much fruit.

So maybe there is a recipe for making them into treats? or just as a once in a while thing?

Just wondering if anyone has done this before and would like to share any knowledge, experience, or recipes!

        xoxo

They don’t lose nutrients, they lose fiber, which in turn raises the sugar content and absorption rate by the body.

I don’t own a juicer so that is all I had to offer, lol, sorry

If I’m not mistaken bunnies aren’t supposed to eat citrus ?

The pulp will be mostly fiber. I would think the fruit pulp may be great for making treats, it would add some nice flavor and still be high in fiber. Perhaps mix it with hay..and?

Probably okay in small quantities, but it would depend on what it is.

Yes, it would depend on what it is. If you juice veggies, it’s of course great. I think it could be useful for making treats, as Mimzy says. Mix it with hay that you’ve cut up into smaller pieces. For that you need a soft hay that you can cut with normal scissors. Then you mix it with the pulp and press the hay + pulp into cookies with your hands, bake on low temp until dry. I have made cookies with pulp from making fruit jelly, but that pulp is boiled so it’s stickier. Raw pulp won’t hold the cookies together quite as well.

Bunnies can eat citrus, in small amounts – any fruit should of course be fed in small amounts.
