So this morning progressed as well as it usually does. Rolo attacked me again when i went to feed her and took a nice chunk out of my hand, ouch.

But, when i went to leave for work i noticed a wet patch on the laminate on the floor. It was far enough away from the door to not have leaked in from rain, and wasn’t really touching or near anything. It was just sitting there like a little puddle. (Well little for a human maybe) I thought my flatmate had spilt something and didn’t have time to clean it up before he had to leave. As i start to clean it up i get the recognizable smell of pee. I’m 99.9999% sure it was pee it just had that ‘urine’ smell about it. Now this was really concerning, the rabbits roam about the flat but they NEVER go in the living room, Archie has been in once and that was just to pop his head in then dash off. Mostly because there is no cover and its all laminate. They are also slightly scared of my flatmate and the living room is my flatmates territory lol. Also, to pee in that spot they would have to had walked PAST my flatmate who is always in the living room and would had to have gotten past me without hearing them. We are both 99% sure that the rabbits haven’t been in the living room at all since basically living here. So that leaves the question of who peed in my living room. IF it was another animal that would explain why Rolo has been acting so aggressive and territorial lately.

But I just have no idea how it got there. The rabbits are always in my room with a closed door when im at work, and even though when im at home and the door is open, only Archie ever leaves and that’s just to roam about in the flat, EXCEPT the living room. Seriously it sounds odd but i know my rabbits and he doesn’t go in there. He doesn’t even go out that much anyway. Everyone keeps telling me it must’ve been the rabbits, or that i didn’t notice it. I know myself and i know the rabbits and it wasn’t there when i got in last night, and i just cant see how the rabbits snuck past both of us and pee’d, their little feet on the laminate always gives away where they are. The familiar tap of their claws lol. In my mind i cannot see how any of the rabbits did this and im pretty sure neither myself or my housemate did xD

        Any theories folks?

I wonder if Rolo snuck past you with the issues she has been having.

I had been thinking about her, I did ferret rescue for a long time and ferrets can be effected by adrenal disease, which can mimic a lot of sexual behavior in altered animals.

So I started looking up adrenals in rabbits. I found this article. http://www.rabbit.org/journal/4-10/sexhormones.html

It would be interesting if they find they can use Lupron on rabbits. We were able to get Lurpon depot for ferrets and it was wonderful for the ones who were not surgical candidates. With rabbits, it’s not the same issue and surgery would not do anything from what I’m understanding, since it’s their body just using it’s pancreas to continue producing hormones as if they were not spayed. I also had some good luck with melatonin on some of the ferrets. I had a ferret who had been bald for years, due to adrenal disease and on melatonin grew all his hair back and got back his energy and strength and was able to have surgery. I don’t know if melatonin is safe with rabbits or if it would have the desired effect.

I know that was rather long winded, I was letting my hands wander a bit with my mind there.

Anyways, I’m thinking anything small enough to hide in your house would probably have a very small pee puddle, like a mouse or a rat. However, because your girl has been acting differently as of late it just seems likely she said to heck with your roommate.

It just seems odd as the girls never leave my room because they don’t like wooden floor at all. Maybe she did sneak past, she has become a pretty fearless rabbit as of late. That’s an interesting article i was just thinking how much she was acting as if she wasn’t spayed. She will charge and bite if you put your hand in the cage, you try to tell her no outside the cage she will attack you, every time She see’s biscuit she will chase. Odd that Archie has taken a disliking to her then if she is acting so ‘female’. If there was a way to reduce any extra hormones it would be a blessing, sometimes i wonder if it was a botched spay and they did it wrong.

Just seems so odd, because she is caged most of the time and only out at night when my door is closed, so i have no idea which one it would have been. Im going to have to assume it was Archie as Biscuit 100% doesn’t leave my room. Altho Archie is a litter trained Angel and will RUN to his litter tray if he needs the loo and was too far away normally.

If it happens again ill be really confused.

ok so it turns out the mysterious urine smelling substance wasn’t from a bunny…..one of my pumpkins had started leaking fluid that literally smelt like piss. NO joke you guys ever smell a leaky pumpkin it does smell like pee o-0. so that’s the good news. bad news, Rolo wasn’t happy to see me she was all grunty and thumpy and just unhappy ;/ she sniffed my hand before demanding a treat, when i didn’t have one she nipped my hand out of the cage :/
