I’m getting another rabbit and the floor of her indoor play pen will be fleece… she is not litter trained so I don’t know if she will pee on the fleece and then the smell won’t go away even after washing. So my question is, will the smell go away after washing or should I not put down a fleece?

You can use fleece on the floor and in her litter box you shoud put bedding like wood stove pellets, Yesterdays Newas, Carefresh or even torn up newspapers just so she knows the difference.
Pee smell will go away when you wash the fleece but you should by several fleece blankies so you can exchange the fleece as soon as you notice any pee. This is to make litter-training as easy as possible. You can use the cheapest fleece-blankies you can get, she will probably dig in them and chew holes so don’t use anything pricey or “too nice”.

Putting hay to nibble in or next to the litter tray is a good way too to train, as the saying goes “as it goes in, so it comes out” !
They love nibbling and going to the loo at the same time, hence why hay trays or racks are put above or next to the litter tray.

I use fleece for my bunnies. Lancelot loves it. Guin pees on it if it is on the outer foot of the room, so I put towels on the edges, and fleece in the middle of the room. Morgana and Avalon scratch at it. I like giving them different flooring options. The pee goes straight through. Once it is washed, the smell is gone.
