When I was checking her teeth yesterday I noticed that her right bottom tooth is slightly chipped, and I think it’s because she won’t stop biting her cage grids. Do you think she’s in pain ? Her jaw doesn’t hurt her , she’s eating hay and pellets and she is still biting the cage. Any ways to stop her ? I will post pictures later when she’s out for playtime.

How much broke off? If it’s a small amount, it may not have hurt her at all. Front teeth can be clipped by the vet without anesthesia. You might want to have those two teeth trimmed so they are even, plus it would get rid of the sharp point on the broken one.

For the bars, could you put something on them that doesn’t taste good? Bitter apple spray might work.

I don’t know where to get bitter Apple spray.. I think I’m just overreacting or something. It seems like the tooth already grew. I’m trying to post the picture now.

Any other ideas to make her stop ?

It looks way better than it did yesterday which is so weird to me.

I have no ideas except vinegar on the bars or maybe give her other things to do, like peel the bark off of apple and willow twigs and more play-time. They do tend to like gnawing at bars though.

It’s important that you keep checking the teeth like every 2-3 days so you see that they grow as they should, if they don’t, a vet should trim them down so they’re even. You don’t want her to develop more serious teeth issues which could happen if her teeth don’t grow out right.

Is the break really bad ?

It doesn’t look real bad in that picture. But you should still watch it to make sure it grows out okay.

Just checked them and they look good. I just cant find a way to make her stop and its just so frustrating , ive been waking up at 4 am for the past week cause shes so noisy. I draped a fleece blanket over where she likes to bite and ill see if that will stop her. Is vinegar okay for her to lick ?

Vinegar is what you traditionally use to deter rabbits and other pets. It’s not safe to gobble up, so to speak. It is a corrosive.
There’s no possibility that she could be free roam or in a bigger enclosure during the night? With an open cage so she can go in there to sleep? I know this is a very frustrating problem, it very efficiently keeps the human awake and not getting enough sleep is devastating for your health in the long run.

A lot of pet stores sell Bitter Apple or you can order it online.

Sorry for the late reply , school and stuff. Update on her teeth is that they are aligned perfectly. I actually just draped the fleece and tucked it at the bottom of her cage and finally that worked. No more waking up at 4 am looking like a zombie. Thanks for all the help!
