My rabbit loves his timothy hay, but yesterday he hasnt eaten any (A tiny bit) and his poops are getting smaller. I gave him hay straight out of the bag but he is only eating the head bit of the hay, and not the rest. I havent fed him extra treats and hes still eating his vegetables and his daily pellets. I’m thinking of not giving him those until he eats his hay again. Is there a reason? His belly also seems really full and I gave him a massage. Hes been like this since yesterday

Keep a good close eye on him. Something could be starting up like GI stasis or blockage. Cut down on the pellets and give more wet greens and hay. Keep him eating and if he stops eating or pooping for 12 hours you will need to call a vet. I usually call the vet within 10 hours because I don’t always know what time the vet will be able to get me in for. I also worry a lot.

Since he’s still eating and pooping you may not need to call the vet at this time. However you do need to keep a VERY close eye on him. Continue the massages, encourage more hay intake because that tends to help the most but also give wet greens so that the gut continues moving, if he stops eating and/or pooping call a vet because it has turned into something more serious.

          Keep us posted
