I used to try to keep him off the bed because he poops and pees all over it, but when making a barrier didn’t work I gave in and now I’m just covering my bed with a tarp. He’s litterbox trained everywhere BUT the bed. I’ve given him a litter box on there, and he’s not using it even though I’ve been putting his poops in there and tissues that I used to wipe up his pees on the tarp. It’s not working! When I try to nudge him into the litterbox, he’ll go in and sniff around but wont use it. If I put him in right after he’s peed, and start telling him to “use his litterbox” he starts thumping at me. How can I make him use this litterbox on the bed? Keeping him off of it was so tiring and the bed is literally 90% of the room :/ Halp!

OMG sounds like rookie….he was litter box trained for months then somehow started going on the bed…I did the constant clean up for a bit too…I got a bigger litter box on the bed now and had to nudge him in there and supervise while he went at first….now knock on wood he is good with it

Willow is the same way. Perfect potty habits, with the sole exception that my bed is a giant litter box to her. I only let her in when I’m in the room and can babysit and keep sticking her in her litter box, which I then get the stink eye and maybe she’ll try and make a dash for quick pee on bed before giving up and going in the box.

If I’m not watching my bedroom door is shut. naughty little stinker. I’d love to know how to convince her not to go in the bed. It would be lovely to have her lay in bed with me while I watch tv.

For me it was interesting cause Rookie would only do it on the side I don’t sleep on. My side he never touched.
I did close the bedroom door for a day and it forced him to go in the litter box I put out…then I moved that box on the bed which he is now using. So fat so good.

Do you put hay in the litterbox? If not, try that.

Okay, tried it for the day and it didn’t work. Any other ideas?

Hi, i’ve recently made a canopy for my bed and this worked for me. When I’m up i just close the curtains and my bun will not hop on the bed anymore.

Its very cheap and easy to make, maybe this will help?
