Hi everyone! My bunny Oliver ( 3 month mini lop ) has started climbing onto the back of my couch, which is pushed against a wall. He found a carrot that I’d left up there so now he keeps on going back and looking for treats. I’m worried because the couch is fake leather and a little bit slippery. I don’t want him to fall or hurt himself while jumping down! Is it ok for him to climb or should I be worried?

Mine climb the couch and although they are older, they aren’t very big. On the slippery issue you could pull it out a little, put a throw over it and then squish it back against the wall.

Josephine jumps from the top if I don’t catch her and implore she jump from the bottom cushions. Still, sometimes she is just a rebel !

If you are really concerned you could block off the couch ? An x pen might work stretched ( yet balanced so it doesn’t fall over ) and wrapped around the corners, depending on the length of the couch.

I got a shelf organizer from Bed Bath and Beyond that is about half the height from the couch to the floor as an intermediary step. My bunny loves it. She used to leap onto the couch from the floor and then look down at the floor and panic and pee. Now she can comfortably get on and off the couch. Hope that helps! I put a pee pad on it just in case she desperately needs to pee. The ease of dismounting off the couch plus the emergency pee pad has gone a long way in keeping my couch pee free.
