Bit of a problem with Muffin, she ALWAYS jumps on the bed. We haven’t encouraged this; she gets free run of the bedroom except on the bed and as soon as she goes on we take her off. But sometimes she gets it into her head to be silly and keeps jumping on immediately after. After 3 times I always put her back into her box but after been released, she tends to do it again eventually.

Anyone got any tips how to stop her? Immediately taking her off the bed doesn’t seem to teach her, nor does putting her back into her box afterwards.

my bun does this all the time!
I trained him to listen to “up” and “down” so whenever he jumped on the bed, i say “down” and he wil jump off, run towards me happily to get a treat. He will not get any though, he’s the typical bunny who will jump on the bed again just to get another treat for getting off afterwards.

          good luck!

We are working with Willow on this too. It’s the one place she may pee outside her box, so I don’t want her up there. Plus I’m pretty sure she is going up there with the sole intention to use the potty.

I just keep picking her up and placing her in the litter box and letting her know that is the potty place.

The last few days as soon as she see’s me when she is on the bed she runs to he litter box and goes potty. I think just not liking being picked up much is enough to train her. Though I’m pretty sure she would be untrustworthy if she thought I wasnt watching. I’m hoping eventually she will stop thinking about the bed as a possible potty.

I suspect Muffin of doing the same thing. It’s really the only place she tends to poo (which is a main reason I don’t want her on the bed).

I think I will do what you will do, rather than just pop her on the floor again place her on her litter box instead. It’s a good idea. Thanks.

With my rabbits, two of them are fine when they jump on the bed except for the stray poop. Even when im not in they never pee on there and very rarely jump on it because they know they aren’t allowed and have impeccable litter habits. The other one is quite a dominant bunny and marks all over my bed and will pee and poop the side i have slept on. So i think it also depends on the bunny. She will jump off if im there but she has to be caged when im out because i cant trust her. For some rabbits the urge to mark what smells strongly of you is too strong. I knew one person who put foil on the sides of the bed so when the rabbit jumped off they didint like the sensation and sound of it then never went on the bed again. Good luck!

Another thing we did, for when I’m not actively babysitting the bed, we got a large piece of oil cloth to lay over it. (like those plastic table clothes with the fuzzy back side.)

No need to have to wash all the beddings 3 times a day. I do have a really thick comforter under the bottom sheet as well, just in case of me being too late when she has gone when I’m supposed to be watching. That way my mattress doesn’t get it.

Lastly, I have a bottle of natures miracle and an old towel next to the bed for any oppsies.

Ours is young, so you would think too young for marking. However I think Kooky is right, she goes either right where my husband, our dog or myself sleeps. So I think it’s our smell that encourages it. In fact if the dog is actually on the bed, she backs right up against him and goes. So nice, to have to wash the bed AND dog. ;P

My DIY bedroom canopy turned out great to keep my bunny from jumping on the bed!
