Armadillo, my stray rabbit from outside, was found to have hookworms after the check up today. The doctor gave us some medication to kill the worms (I dont remember what it was, it didnt say) And also some good bacteria for his tummy so he feels better, The bacteria he gave was Florenotero, for dogs and cats. He gets 5cc two times a day. After we got home, Dillo refused to eat his pellets, which he usually just gobbles up and disappears within seconds. He didnt want to eat his dried apple and banana’s either. Is it because of the stress of taking medicine? He HATES syringe feeding and kicks to get away. However he did eat some after a little bit, and after dinner I gave him another dose of the Florentero. Then he was like how he was before, lazy looking and refusing to eat. I did give him some cilantro and he did eat it. Is it because he’s stressed? He’s underweight for his size, the hookworms are draining his nutrience. He still looks sleepy and flopped out on his little fleece bed. Hopefully he’ll be okay…

I too hope he’ll be ok. How long are you giving the dewormer for? If it’s for many days and he doesn’t eat like he should, you will have to syringe-feed him, even if he hates it. Is he pooping?

He seems to be more awake, and yes hes eating and pooping. He got the dose yesterday, he mightve just been really stressed or tired

I’m glad to hear that he’s doing better
