My bunny’s nose has been wet for almost a month. I have not taken him to the vet about it yet. He was recently cured from syphilis (September 15 was his last shot). A week after his last shot he started getting a wet nose and has always been damped since then. It doesn’t seem to bother him and isn’t sneezing it’s just slightly wet. No weird colored discharge it just seems clear. He does drink water out of a bowl but has never had this wet nose before and it’s only on one side also it hardens his fur around the area when it dries up. I am planning to get him neutered soon but I’m afraid it might have to wait because of his nose. Is this possibly normal or is there something wrong with him?

Here is a picture how it looks like today

One of my buns is in the same position. I talked to my vet about it and she said that it can be normal for them to have wet noses and there to not be any problems, but it is a good idea to get them checked just incase.

I would definitely get it checked out just in case. A slightly wet nose is normal, but if it’s matting his fur that doesn’t seem right. And matted fur usually ends up too hard for them to clean up properly and then gets ripped out causing pink skin and sometimes bleeding in the area.
It’s always better to be on the safe sign with bunnies, especially before undergoing a procedure that requires anesthesia
