Since we have a garden which Redford adores I was wondering just how cold is cold for bunny to have his binkies outside.
We live in Serbia and since it’s October it’s been some 15-18C today. I had a friend visiting and we wonted to sit in the garden and of course bunny slipped trough kitchen door with us and refused to go back inside. I was really worried that he might get cold be he just binkied his way trough the garden and looked like he couldnt care less.
None the less his feelings about all of this I’m still worried when is too cold for a bunny to get outside?
I know it might sound as a stupid question but I really have no idea about this.

I would think if it’s warm enough for you to be outside it would be fine for a bunny.

I think the bigger concern is heat.

            Thx Mimsy!
I was still worried because I have my sweater and he has only his fluffy fur. And more importantly there is a temperature change from houses 25C to 15C outside.
And if this is OK then how longer should he be Ok with zooming outside?

If it is too cold for your bunny, he wont want to play outside. I use to keep my buns outside in -29C. They had fun hopping and digging in the snow. As long as it is not windy or rainy, they do prefer colder weather. They grow thicker fur in winter. 15/25 is not so bad of a temp difference. -28/25 is a huge difference.

Rabbits are happy in temperatures much lower than humans can tolerate. Plenty of outdoor bunnies live outside in temperatures as low as -5f(-21c) all winter.

That bunny fur is much warmer than your sweater.

Agree with the others. If your okay with just a sweater, I’m sure your bun is comfortable.

Redford would like me to thank you all for explaining to his hooman that it’s still OK for his zooming outside.
                    Thank you all!
