I worry that Fox is lonely. Is there a way to tell? He lays in various states of the typical relaxed bunny – with the following picture becoming the most common way he rest these days. I know this is a happy state to be in. And as long as he is still coming out, playing, and sleeping like this – should I consider him an emotionally happy bunny? Or are their signs of loneliness that I should be aware of.

OMG Adorable-I could not take that photograph, I’d be squishing his cute cheeks and playing with those adorable feet.

          Phew! He’s cute!!!

Sorry-I’d say they’d show loneliness by eating less maybe? Does he have a stuffed animal? Animals don’t seem to divide the world up into ‘alive’ and ‘not alive’ so while a stuffed animal will never groom them, Kahlua is never far from her stuffy and that thing gets more personal grooming than anything. She loves it. She has a bonded buddy but her stuffy is also her friend. If you are concerned about loneliness maybe see how he likes a fake buddy.

But I think based on what you write, he’s a happy dude!

            ahhhh what a lovely bunny!

I think it’s hard to tell if a bunny is lonely or unhappy. But if he’s still relaxed and playing a lot I think he should be fine. Most of the time bunnies are happier with a friend, but that doesn’t mean that they are unhappy on their own. As long as he gets enough attention from you, he will be a satisfied bun.

I can tell if my bunny has been lonely because he will fall asleep on my lap, this mostly happens when i’ve been away for the night. He is used to a good amount of attention even at night so in the morning when i’m home again he will claim my lap for a while. He is a cuddlebunny but just for 15 minutes, then he will hop off and score some food.

I think that the stuffed animal is a great idea! This will definitely give him the chance to cuddle even when you are not around.

Hmm any advice on what kind of stuffy to get him? Like materials wise?

I think it’s the most safe to get a stuffed animal for babies, so the materials can’t be that harmful.

                something like this maybe:

Yup a stuffie meant for a baby or a dog is best. But make sure to keep a close eye at first, some bunnies will chew stuffies. Bindi can’t have them for that reason. Olivia has a bunny and a bear.
