So my 3 month old Holland Lop finished her course of penicillin shots on Sunday, yet her yellow crusty nose hasn’t gotten better. She doesn’t sneeze at all and is eating, pooping, and peeing normally. I changed her litter from wood pellets to carefresh and still no change. Her only symtom is the yellow dirty nose. It doesn’t even look like mucus or discharge it is just crusty and dirty. Maybe just a little wetness right under her nostrils. She is a pure white bunny so it could just be sticking out to me. Should I bring her back to vet and try another course of action or should I wait and see if it gets better over time? Both her front and back feet are yellow on the bottom but I believe that it is just from standing in her litter box. Thanks in advance!

Follow up question: could it be the dust from her hay? I am currently using Kaytee brand timothy hay. Is there any hay out there that is better quality with less dust? Also, which type of hay is best for 3 month old bunnies? I’m seeing many different kinds such as meadow grass hay, oat hay, alfalfa hay and timothy hay. She is currently eating oxbox bunny basic pellets so I believe she is getting enough alfalfa. What is the difference between oat, meadow grass and timothy hay?

What did the vet say when you told him/her about the continuing issue ? I don’t have any experience with store hay, so I can’t be of much use on that question.

What was she diagnosed with? And how long were the shots given for?

She was diagnosed with snuffles and given 6, 4cc penicillin shots every 48 hours. No culture was taken.
