        I really need some help.
I have to go on a longer trip. Ill be off for 20days. And I don’t know what is the best thing for the Redford. Should I leave him home, in his own familiar space and get someone to visit him (though I think that wouldn’t be enough and he would feel lonely). Or should I try to find someone to take him in for that time. But then I don’t know will they get him plenty of time for his exercises and how will he react.
Or something else? I really need some advice here. And I really hate the idea of leaving him that long. But if I have to I want him to be happy. Was thinking to maybe try to find someone who has bunnies already and pay them for the “hotel” but don’t know how will he react around other bunnies since he never had a chanse to meet them before. And even if hi likes the company will he be depressed when I get back and take him home again. Since I unfortunately really can’t get another bunny.

Btw. I’m really sorry for my bad English, but I really need your help on this one.

I don’t advise putting him with other bunnies. Unbonded – bad idea.
It sounds like your options are – find a bunny-sitter you trust, or find a pet-friendly hotel and take him with.
I have done both. Yes he will be lonely when you are away, but he will recover when you get back.
I currently as we speak – have 2 bunnies with me on travel, and 2 bunnies at home with my animal sitter popping in once a day.
Not all pet friendly hotels accept bunnies. I had to call quite a few to find one that would say yes. The standard protocol seems to be – dogs only. But when you call them, some may make an exception.
Your trip sounds like it is coming up soon and you mentioned that you can’t get another bunny. Even if you could, don’t get a pal for him just yet. It would be dangerous for their safety to leave 2 bunnies together that have not been properly bonded.
I hope this helps – there is really no easy solution. I had to pack ALOT of things to bring these 2 bunnies with me. It isn’t convenient. Having the bunnies at the hotel means I can spend time with them as usual, but they don’t have the same amount of space to run around in.
Either way – once you and your bunny are back home together, things will normalize again, and all will be forgiven and forgotten. Wishing you the best.

            Thx. for the help!

I would be happiest if i could take him with me, but I’m flying and it wouldn’t be possible right now.
So as it seems my only option is to find him a bunny-sitter and hope everything will be fine. Was thinking to maybe get him to my parents, they have a dog and two cats but they also have spare room where hi could be and dog and cats wouldn’t get in. But again that would be 5 hours drive just in one direction for him. And since he sniffs neighbors dog when hi is passing by our window or door and is not really found of him that would probably be a bad thing too.

Honestly for now bunny-sitter sounds as best option but I’m still worried.

It’s understandable to be worried. Think about a mother leaving her newborn with a baby sitter – the mom will worry no matter what. I try not to voice this to my bunny sitters, because I don’t want to offend them. But yeah – I know my bunnies – I know if their behavior is off, if there is something wrong with them, if they are eating or drinking or pooping enough, I know how much food I give them, how much hay I put in the litter box, etc. I know that they know who they know and they don’t like strangers, and it takes them a while to get to know a new person. I do about 5 weeks travel a year. That’s 5 weeks of worry and wishing I was home. (Nevermind my dogs, cat, fish, and 19 birds). All you can do is find the best person you can, leave detailed written instructions, and then put it out of your mind so you can have a a decent travel.
              Good luck 🙂

Thx. vanessa. It really means a lot to me just to hear some other ideas and someone else who had same problem.
