I just noticed this evening, while my spayed female was doing her usual “dominating” my neutered males poor face, I noticed after she (or he. I didn’t get a great view…thank goodness) sprayed a little. I’ve noticed some little spray spots here & there but I never thought too much into it until I just witnessed it with my own eyes. I’m not positive if it was her or him but either is strange bc they are spayed & neutered. Has anyone else had this happen?? Is this normal?

It happens, unfortunately. Even spayed/neutered bunnies can and will spray if they want to. Most don’t do it very often though.

Was it near the litter box? Sometimes they back up and lift and it sprays backwards, but it’s not a territorial thing.

My rabbit Rumball has unfortunately been doing this for a little over 2 years now. He’ll be 9 next month and was neutered when under 1 year of age. His litter habits are good otherwise.
Has your male also been mounting at all?

It wasn’t near the litter box & hasn’t been. When I saw it happen she had just finished mounting my male. I just thought it was strange. I was thinking he did something to really tick her off & that was her final word. Lol but my male, Fritz, just seemed to enjoy it. Lol

My male acts like he wants to mount her, but then seems to chicken out. He is smaller than her so he is never successful anymore. But the female mounts his face on a daily basis. Lol I just thought it was strange that it appeared to be the female & not my male spraying. But as long as it’s fairly normal, I’m ok with it. I was just curious.

Ok well this is good to know. I was just curious as to why more than anything. It is what it is & as long as it’s normal I’m ok with it. Thank you!

It’s totally normal. People don’t think girls spray, but they do.
