I accidentally hit my rabbit when he was behind me and his tooth cut the bottom part of his lip. His lip started bleeding and I feel really bad. It was my fault, I didnt see him and kicked him by accident. I put some flour on it to stop it from bleeding and I gave him some pellets to keep him busy. Is there anything else I can do for him? It wasnt bleeding too much but I tried to wipe some off and he kept kicking. I hope he’s alright.

I wish I had experience with this to help you out. I do know how easy they get underfoot !

Hopefully someone with more knowledge can help.

Oh no! I’m sure you feel so bad! They love to get underfoot!

Keep a close eye on his lip. It will probably be fine, but be prepared to seek out a vet if it appears infected (swollen, red, has a discharge), or if he stops eating/doesn’t eat his normal amount within the next week or two. Rabbits are unfortunately very prone to abscesses. If it doesn’t heal, you’ll have to take him in for some medicine.

When I went to bed last night I saw him drinking water. Hes also still eating his pellets and veggies. I heard him munching on hay before I left. I’ll go check on him later.

I’ll keep an eye on it

We never knew we were going to get a rabbit so we made this weird tiny temporary cage and it was like as high as a coffee table ( it was when she was like 2 months old ). Obviously all of us not knowing the capability of baby bunny jumps , we didnt really think about it. One day she jumped out of the cage , face-planted on the floor and bit a piece of her lip off. She was bleeding a bit so i put her on my lap and just dipped my finger in water and she started licking it off and after a few mins of that it stopped bleeding ! It healed perfectly so thank god. So a bit later i picked her up to check it out and it was the first time she gave me kisses and i think it was her way of saying thank you <3!! Im pretty sure he will be fine , dont worry too much.

Aww thats cute! Hopefully nothing goes wrong, but I did put some flour on it since it was bleeding quite a bit. He did ingest some, but not too much. He seems fine today
