Hello all I am a new bunny mama .. I just got my baby a week ago and was wondering if anyone could

Well, his ears seem big. That doesn’t mean he isn’t a Holland though. Did the breeder sell him as “pet quality”? That means they don’t meet breed standards. About 25% of Holland bunnies do not have the dwarfism gene. They are still small, but they tend to exceed the 4 lb limit and their ears are longer. Sometimes their heads aren’t as “smooshed”.

There is a similar looking bunny in the October pictures.

As the owner of the similar looking bunny, he doesn’t look like a thing like my other lop, who the vet said she is most likely a holland lop crossed with another breed of bunny. Plus looking at other holland lop images, mine doesn’t have the more chubbier cheeks while princess aka laurana does. All I know is that our newest is adorable and full of antics over here with the binkys and then pouring his pellets into the water bowl like a silly boy.

It sounds to me like he was sold as pet quality. Still a Holland lop, he just doesn’t meet the breed standards. Nothing wrong with that though! He will make a lovely bunny. Plus there is a chance he won’t experience some of the health problems seen in Hollands (smooshed face = tooth issues).

Thank you all for your input! I love him to pieces already and am going to bring another bunny home next week for him to have a playmate
