Seeing as Halloween is approaching, I thought it might be fun to share some stories.  Any spooky tales anyone? Tell us your “ghost” stories.  Unexplained occurrences ever happened in your home or of people you know?

And, just for fun and because has rabbits in it…

Short story and video    (not too much to see)

I worked for a lawyer And the office was in a really old house. I hated the days when everyone was out and it was just me in the office. Pretty sure it was haunted (Im a big believer in that stuff). We would sometimes hear what sounded like footsteps in the attic or on th back stairs leading to the attic. The two other girls there said that once they found wet foot prints on the back stairs and no one had been there all day. And sometimes the radio in the waiting room would change stations or the volume would go up and down. The worst part was when Mr Boss would send me to the attic to get some files…..was so friggin creepy up there. I just really felt like someone was watching me….getting goosebumps now just thinking about it….

Was that where you worked up until recently? ie. Before Bub.
Wet footprints… that’d be a worry if they couldn’t account for anybody. Even if a stranger off the street came in, that’s still creepy enough.

My parents have told me of odd incidents in the past but I can’t recall the details. I’ll have to chase that up. I do remember Mum saying about the doorbell sounding the night her father died. Not a wireless doorbell either.  She had gone to stay with her Mum (his wife) so this occurred at his home. She liked to think it was him…

p.s. I read your post by candlelight lol. Power outage. Creating good atmosphere for stories tho!

Once I was at my friend’s house, and though she always told me about things happening here and there, I never experienced it. Well once we were making a pizza in the kitchen when her mom was upstairs in her bedroom. As my friend is reading the pizza box for how long to set the oven timer, I hear her humming some kind of song. A few seconds later, I hear my friend, over the humming, say “what are you humming?” Hahahaha we nope’d right on out of the kitchen to ask her mom what she was doing, and her mom was quietly doing work upstairs and not humming.

My friend then told me once about how she and a friend went down to the basement to grab something from the freezer they kept down there and they heard my friend’s mom call down the stairs “Are you girls alright?” in which they both replied “yes”. They then remembered they were home alone and ran up the stairs to find an empty house, locked doors, closed windows, and her mom was at work for another few hours.

Oh oh OH, and then there was the time last year where I was home reading scary stories, of course, when I looked up across the room at the window that had, for some reason, fogged up and right in the middle of the fog was a handprint much too large to be mine on the OUTSIDE of the window.

Never saw it before, never saw it again. Would occasionally hear bumps upstairs that sounded like footsteps when no one else was home though…I would like to add that the tree in that picture, we uh… found some plastic bags tied up in it and out of curiosity we opened one up to find bones. Like… cat-sized bones in plastic bags in our tree. We told management and they looked at a different apartment and said “I think we know who it is” and nothing else came of it. So the handprint might not be ghostly, but it could also belong to whoever put cat bones in our tree, which still makes it super scary.

Mmm… Well if one is going to have a ghost, make it one that hums and asks if you’re ok!! I think I could handle that kind. Thanks Meketaten.

@Kitty, share your childhood experiences anyway!

I know a story about a Ghost. Once there was a bunny named Ghost who wanted a home. Then a wonderful human named Pam gave him a home. And we renamed him Spikey Marbles The Ghost. The End. Hehehehehehehehehe!

You know, I’m pretty sure the storage area at my retail job was haunted. The store was actually renting out an only restaurant next door and they kept all of their unused fixtures and displays in there. I swear there was something watching me in there. It was so creepy! Then for some reason, they put all of the bra fixtures in the back boiler room. It looked like a dungeon in there and there was this dark space back in the corner. It wasn’t really a room or hallway, but it was dark back there and it seemed to disappear into nothing. Anyway, I was always afraid something would jump out and grab me. Then there was the time I saw something move in the kitchen, but that could have just been a reflection in all the stainless steel back there.

In our old 2 story house we always felt like someone was following us when we were going downstairs. It wasnt just me it was all my family members. We all used to hear clicking noises and like our room doors would slowly go back and forth sometimes, very creepy cause im really afraid of these things ! One guy once came inside our fence and creeped on my sister and i at 5 am. He even wiped the dust of the windows to look inside. The funny part is my sister who is 20 actually waved at him thinking it was my father. He quickly ran away. Not really a ghost story just was too funny.

Reeem haha !! Poor guy maybe he thought he’s invisible haha…. I would be scared….LBJ I am happy it’s other people too and not just me, cause I am always worried something will grab me and my Luke is just thinking I am childish…. lol …

My childhood story… I was about 10-11 and we were having lunch. My parents own the biggest flat in the world (I grew up there)so our kitchen is dining room as well as bar area and storages and in the very corner across the room is fridge and as we had lunch we all sat around table and talked about something and I saw a woman standing in the corner by the fridge. She had long brown hair and red dress like from year 1600. I didn’t get scared as i thought it’s my mum’s friend and started looking at her and my parents asked me what am i looking at and I said I am looking at that lady in the corner of the room. And after I seen my mums face she asked Show us where the lady is. And I did and she was looking straight at me and I started to cry as my parents were acting weird. My mum took me to the living room and as we came back she was gone… I think it could be either imagination as I had issues when I was 5 the took me to psychologist as I had ”cat house” in my wardrobe and five cats I named and they were everywhere with me (imaginary cats) lol I remember them I could see them real, but now I know they weren’t. Or were they? lol !!!

when I lived in american base in germany, I was 17 and in dark room I saw man in the corner. Thought it’s dad as he always came to our rooms to put duvet on us and give us a kiss when we were kids so I looked at him and said good night and he opened the balcony and walked out saying good night. 5minutes later my dad came…. I didn’t say anything, cause I would end up in psychologist’s ambulance again lol….

My auntie does numerology and tarot and she’s proper witch as well as granny and they said it was real…. I am not sure, but definetly it was creepy

Sorry for bad english, it’s my second language xxx Hope this creeps you out a little lol

Our unit at the hospital has a spirit. In one room we have a lot of activity. For instance the call light will go off and no one is in the room. Our beds readjust patients based on their weight. The bed in that room constantly moves as if someone is laying on it even though the room is empty. Sometimes patinets will complain that the phone in there rings all night. We also have cardiac monitoring that displays out at our nurses station. Occasionally that room will appear on the monitor with a heart rate and an oxygen saturation even though there is no patient/the patient isn’t connected.

If the monitor starts up someone has to go in and unplug it. We keep the rooms dark if they are unoccupied and I work night shift. argh! Its the worst!

Yeah, think I’d get pretty creeped out too! Someone at your work had probably already suggested this, but can any of it be explained by electrical surges?

@Jersey Girl.. I totally thought it was electrical surges. A year and a half into working there we got a new call light system. It required all new wiring. despite the rewiring the call light still does it. The monitors have a battery back-up and two different ports to connect to our central monitoring system in the room. They still register at the desk on occasion despite frequent changes. We also got new monitors about a year ago and the new monitor does it as well. It is crazy. As for the phone I don’t know? You can’t make any calls into the rooms from the outside after 10pm. So call the calls at night are literally coming from..inside the hospital. (cue creepy music). The phone has rung before when the room is empty. I managed to make it in there and answer it once.. in the dark. It was just heavy breathing and then the line clicked off. I guess its possible that a patient on another floor is calling on accident but it seems odd that coincidentally over time so many people would get a number wrong.

Ooh ghost stories, I like them, but I have 3 short stories to tell you that happened to me, but I hope I don’t scare anyone.

The first one was back in 1998, I used to work for a bus company as a driver, it was the last bus for the night, I was looking forward to getting home and having my tea, I got to a junction and the lights were red, we were waiting for a while and when the lights changed I indicated left, but on my dash board it was indicating right, I just thought I had made a mistake and tried again, I tried to turn left, it wouldn’t go, there was a lot of traffic behind me, I put the warning lights on and phoned the garage, they told me to turn right and be gentle with it and it would go, the garage man said it was nervous, “A nervous bus?” I said, the man said “Yes, this time last year on that road a driver turned left and ran into a car, no one was hurt but it doesn’t like that road.”

The second one was in October 1999, I was driving the bus through the countryside, there was only 5 people I picked up at one stop, 4 people sat downstairs and one old man went upstairs, I was traveling towards the town and there were no other passengers to pick up, when I got to the bus station the 4 people downstairs got off, but the old man didn’t come downstairs, I shouted up to him but no reply, I had to see if he was OK, there is a mirror that you can look in and see upstairs, I looked in it and he was sat there, I went up to tell him we were in town, but he had vanished.

The third and most scary one of all, I had just bought a car and I decided to take some friends out for a spin, we went on the moors, it was dark and I said we had better go back, it was raining hard, we passed a young man who was wearing jeans and a t-shirt, one friend said to stop and pick him up, I thought about it then backed up and asked if he wanted a lift, he got in the back, he said he was going to the church, I knew there was a church down the road, he said he wanted to see his dad it was important he had to tell him something, I pulled into the church yard and my friend screamed, I turned round asking what was wrong, the man had vanished, the church lights were on, so I went in, I told the vicar about the man, I described him to him, I saw a tear in his eye, he said. “I never believed in ghosts, but you have seen one, that was my son, he was knocked down on that road.” He prayed for me and I left feeling quite sad, then I told my friends what happened and I went out of the church yard back onto the road and said I hope that never happens again, ever.

Whoaaahhh Pinky! You’ve seen “people” vanish and yet you continued driving buses!? I would’ve been too afraid after your second story to keep the job!

MeketatenBun, to honest they don’t bother me, but the one in my car did, they can’t hurt you, I actually live with 4 ghosts, they are just annoying sometimes, they mess about throwing papers off my desk, the Father is finding someone who can help from church, I continued working as a bus driver until I had problems with my spine.
As its coming up to Halloween I would like to warn people about something, seances are not big or clever, I know a man who went to one, he got angry and smashed the board, on his way home he came off his motorbike, he had to have an operation to repair his arm, he still has his arm in a leather sling and pins in his arm, this happened back in 1977, I asked him what happened, he told me on the way home he felt something lift him off his bike and throw him, the arm which he hurt was the one he smashed the board with, so those ghost boards are dangerous, it might not happen straight away, could be days, months, or years later, I have seen people in hospital not been able to move or speak because they have played with these boards, so the best thing to do is go trick or treating safely knocking on doors of people you know, and be careful near candles, you can get battery candles now, please be careful and have a nice time, its more fun when its safe.
