Could the reason my bunny doesn’t like to eat her hay in the box be that she doesn’t like the pine pellets I use. She will go to go to the bathroom in box but she doesn’t seem to like to eat her hay.

Does she have hay some where’s else that she eats or she’s just not eating any hay at all?

It’s normal not to want to eat things that have been pooped and peed on. It’s best to have the hay adjacent to the litter, and not just in it. I use a wire basket hanging next to the litter box. I’ve seen tutorial for haveing areas with dowels next to the litter where the hay goes and can be reached, but can’t be peed on.

I do both – hay in the box, and a hay rack. They eat from the box. Try a hay rack next to the box. Has your bun ever eaten hay? Perhaps try a different type of hay? My little guy only eats orchard. The other 3 eat timothy and orchard.

I put the hay in my bunnies litterbox on top of wood stove pellets. They ignore the pellets and eat the hay. So I would try a hay rack and/or a different type of hay.
