On Wednesday I lost my rabbit, Ginger, to what is thought to be leukemia. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and processing, and I don’t want to hash out the details of her death, so this will be brief. I saw Ginger on a website for a shelter in Evergreen, CO. Her name at the time was Coco, which is the name of my other rabbit. I took a chance and took her home for a trial. They bonded in one night, and were best friends for the two and a half years I had her. Ginger was the most active bunny I’d ever had, and one of the sweetest. She loved to jump and be petted. I felt so guilty when she wouldn’t get better, after she got sick, I thought I was doing something wrong, but when I found out she had cancer the only thing to do was to make her comfortable. I love you, Gin-Gin.

Oh MK, I was waiting for you to make this thread so I could tell you again how deeply and truly sorry I am for your loss. She was loved very much and will be dearly missed. You were an amazing owner for her, (((HUGS))) to you and Coco.

I’ve already expressed my sadness to you MK, but I just wanted you to know you could never do anything wrong, especially when it came to Ginger. Thank you for being so wonderful and strong and putting her comfort first – that’s how I know you loved her.

Take care and remember I’ll always be your bunny mum no matter what the future brings. I meant it when I said I adored you, you really are that special.

I’m so sorry that you lost her, MK. I want to say it again in this memorial thread. She was a beautiful bunny. I’m so sorry she had to leave, but she had to, there was nothing that could have been done for her, or you would’ve done it. I’m glad she got to have you for a human.

              Binky free, sweet Ginger.

I’m so sorry again for the huge loss you are going through.
We can only ever do our best and you certainly did.
Ginger is one of the lucky ones to have a mum like you.
We all have to leave one day and you made gingers time as easy as possible.
The main thing is the life in your years not the amount of years, and I’m confident you gave her such a wonderful life .
Hope you and co co are coping.
I feel so much sorrow for you and think of you three all the time.
Ginger wouldn’t want you to be sad shed want you to remember the happy times and smile.
The pain must seem unbearable at times but it does get easier with time but the good memories never leave us she’ll always be with you in your heart and mind.

I posted in your other thread as well, but I thought I should write something here too. Ginger was a beautiful bun and such a special girl. I agree with Andi. Don’t ever thing you did something wrong. You obviously loved her very much and you couldn’t have known she had cancer leading up to this. So sorry for you loss and please stick around for awhile. We want to be here for you.

Thank you, everyone. I don’t think I could have done this without your support! I will stick around a while, too.
