This is the most horrifying thing I have ever seen in a rabbit, we found a rabbit that was just walking around where we live for the past 2 days now and I thought it was somebody’s rabbit just walking round but its nobody rabbit so I decide to check it in, see if it has any fleas or mites but nothing was there until I checked its bottom it was infected I think, but it was horrible what that rabbit had I’ve never seen anything like this but the rabbit didn’t show any pain he didn’t let us check his bottom and I only was a little bit of what was there but it was red and fur was peeling out I have no idea how this poor rabbit got this but now I know why they left him, it saddens me that some people don’t have enough time to take care of him I’m taking care of him now but I need help on what he has on his bottom but does anybody knows what he has? I’ll post some pictures of what it looks like

It’s hard to say with just a description like that. Photos would help, but you might want to put a warning in your thread title if they are very graphic/disturbing.

It could be bad mites, bad urine scald, flystrike, infection or something else. I’d bring him/her to the vet though.

It sounds like an emergency. I’d take him/her to the vet really quickly. Bunnies try not to show their sufering because they are prey animals – so signs of weakness make them more vulnerable. They can go from “ok” to “really bad” – in a very short time.

that rabbit will be in allot of pain. can you call rspca or get to a vet immediately. if it’s flystrike he will die a slow and agonising death. rabbits hide their pain from what you describe there’s no way it wouldn’t be in pain.

There’s nothing anyone can do from the internet, or that you can do by searching on the internet.

Can you catch the rabbit and take it to the vet? Most vets will treat injured strays and wildlife for free. You could also call animal control
