Is this normal?? I know they are only 11/12 weeks so they just do whatever suits them. They poop mostly in the tray and pee although still get a few poops on the ground and pee. (am mopping up pee with newspaper and chucking in the tray and wiping where they pee’d with vinegar) But today I noticed they were actually LAYING down in the tray … normal .. or just baby rabbits being baby rabbits??

haha yeah well i think it’s normal my little one did it around that age, he was still settling in and was finding his own space to hang out.
Now he prefers his super soft rugs and his playhouse to sleep and chill.

Ahh ok thank you. They do spend most of the time in there eating hay from the hay rack .. so I think they are getting the idea. Its only been a little while since I introduced the litter tray .. I was just a bit eeeeewwww when I saw them chilling in their own pee and poop lol!!

hahaha yeah i introduced the litter tray right away and he was using the hay as bedding so he could lay down and eat at the same time.

Now he gets it and knows that it’s just to leave little presents behind!

Yeah, all of mine have used the litterbox as a bed when they were smaller. Thankfully, most of them grew out of it.

I catch my 5 year old bun sound asleep in his litter box all the time!

Mine haven’t grown out of it. So I keep the litter box nice and full of hay. So at least the pee falls through, and sometime sI top it up during the day before changing it, so they aren’t sitting directly on poop. My youngest bunny is 18 month old. My oldest is an unknown age. Guin (2 yrs) and Lancelot (unknown age) both like chilling in their litter box. They sit, and lie in it. If I give Guin 2 boxes, she will use one as her main litter box, and the other as her sleepy floppy spot and secondary litter box. Morgana will sit and hang out in her box, but Avalon doesn’t.

My bunny does this as well, and he is about 14 weeks old. He pretty much doesn’t move out of his litterbox unless I take him out of the cage.
