I’ve started to swap Charlie and George between the cage and the pen because I want them to share the pen when they’re bonded. Many people say to but the cages beside each other with a 3 inch gap – enough to stop them biting each other between the bars and move them closer as bonding is more successful.

Often people swap litter boxes and sometimes people use a stuffed toy which smells of the opposite bun to get them used to the others smell.

If you can take your rabbit to an adoption centre so they can meet a rabbit it’s best, but they must be fixed first for this.

I agree, definitely take Latte on some bunny dates! We brought my chinchilla rabbit Peppercorn to a few dates, and there were a few bunnies that attacked him right away. I cannot imagine how difficult it would have been to bond them! There was one rabbit he was indifferent about, and so we adopted her – the dates so far have been going well.

I have a friend who brought a 2nd bunny home from the shelter without dating her resident rabbit, and they do not get along at all. They’re constantly fighting!
